Launched under the Music Business Academy umbrella and officially registered in 2022, the Music Business Awards – Africa (MBAA) is a groundbreaking annual celebration dedicated to honoring the unsung heroes who power the music industry.

The Awards will be officially launched and hosted in partnership with global premium brands, Mercedes Sandton and First National Bank (FNB), who will headline as main hosts.

With the powerful tagline “Honoring the Music Industry Invisibles,” the awards spotlight the professionals and practitioners whose behind-the-scenes work drives the success of artists and shapes the music industry as we know it.

Originally established to recognize key contributors within the South African music sector, the vision has since evolved as the Academy's footprint expanded across the continent.
